CDS successfully completed a stormwater outlet drill shot, installation of 200m of 630mm OD PE pipe down the middle of a busy St Heliers Road in a single shot and a complex 6m deep manhole and outlet structure for Auckland Council.
Ground conditions in this area proved very complex and through CDS’s use of drilling muds CDS were successful in reducing the risk to nearby properties and installing large diameter pipe by HDD. CDS used Highside Drilling Services ® and their Paratrack software to locate the outlet drill shot and accurately located the drill shot to the outlet, 25m below the cliff where the drill rig was situated. On this project CDS used its DitchWitch ® JT8020 drill rig accompanied by our Mongoose mud recycling plant, reducing our water and drilling mud usage saving the client money and helping the environment.
CDS was able to deliver this project in its entirety with our civil crews building complex structures and working in the coastal marine area all while adhering to strict environmental and consent conditions.
