CDS completed the William Souter project for Auckland Council in June 2022. This $1.8m project involved the installation approximately 105 meters of 630mm, 50 meters of 560mm, 150 meters of 500mm, 110 meters of 450mm, 63 meters of 355mm and 65 meters of 315mm diameter polyethylene (PE) pipe. CDS and our subcontractors also installed 40 meters of 750mm Concrete (RCRRJ) & 85 meters of 300mm Concrete (RCRRJ) pipe by open trenching.
CDS and our subcontractors also completed the installation of manholes ranging from 1050mm diameter to 2300mm diameter up to a depth of 5 meters and installed catchpits & hushpits along Manutara Ave & William Souter St.
Highlights of the job included:
CDS worked with Auckland Council to provide feasible solutions to service clashes and other technical challenges to ensure that the works was done safely, on time and within the budget. Early Hydroexcavation helped identify service clashes ahead of construction to minimise delays.
CDS and our subcontractors augured a 3 meter diameter excavation to 5 meters in depth, supported it with a steel casing prior to the manhole installation. Due to the proximity of 11KVA overhead cables, CDS engaged with Vector and ensured that permits were in place before this works was done.
Throughout CDS worked with the residents and provided alternate access when required and ensured all reinstatement was completed to the satisfaction of the owners.
